The OC quick-release leash features a 6 foot long coiled polyurethane cord with a 1.5" velcro calf strap.
The LIGHT version features a 7mm cord and a smaller, lighter carabiner than the HEAVY (HD) version of this leash. A little less bulky than the HD, still plenty strong and easy to connect/disconnect.
The HD version features an 8mm cord and a Metolius carabiner. Weighing less than 1 oz and with a breaking strength of almost 5,000 pounds, it cannot open accidentally, and is easy to connect and disconnect in challenging conditions.
The LIGHT model is more popular than the HD, but on a really heavy big wave day we recommend the HD.
